Featured User: Teofilo Pardo Rodriguez

Teofilo Pardo often uploads his V-Ray for SketchUp images to the ASGVIS Forum hoping for some constructive criticism from fellow V-Ray users. The end result of his posts is usually a long thread of users praising his work.

"Every time that you post I enjoy seeing your renders because you have the talent of a 3D artist, but something very important is the architecture and the design. You also know how to manage the colors, composition, forms, textures, and materials. Congrats Teofas!" − Dave Reyes on the ASGVIS Forums

Learning V-Ray was a challenge for Teo, but with a lot of practice he became the expert he is today, as well as ASGVIS' Featured V-Ray User.

Name: Teofilo Pardo Rodriguez

Age: 28

Software you use:  SketchUp and V-Ray for SketchUp

Industry you work in:  I am a partner of a construction and design company named  s p a z i o  in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Though I'm still working toward my degree, the people here believed in me and gave me the opportunity to be the lead designer. I've been working at
s p a z i o  since October and it's been a great experience.

Hobbies: I love music, I enjoy playing the piano, and love going to the movies!

PC or Mac: PC

How long have you been using V-Ray? About 2 years.

What is the most challenging project you've worked on?
Probably the one I'm working on right now, which is a resort with a hotel, restaurant, lounge, etc.

What problems did you face when you began using V-Ray? Learning the V-Ray work-flow was a challenge because I was an Artlantis user, and Artlantis is very different from V-Ray. I also used to struggle with things like displacement and learning to make good materials, because I like to create my own materials instead of downloading them. However, once you get used to the V-Ray work-flow, it's an excellent tool with great results in very fast time.

Any V-Ray features you would like to see in a future release? V-Ray fur is one I really want! Also V-Ray proxys.

What do you recommend to new users? Practice a lot (I'm not kidding, hehe!). Also post your works in the ASGVIS Forum. It doesn't matter if they are not that good. This is the best way to get help and critiques that will make you better. Also, be patient, and again, practice and practice.
